Safety check

Open Safety from More, or go to /console/safety. Paste a coin mint or a wallet address.

The result is OK, Caution, or Danger, with the reasons. The console does not say a coin is safe. The best result is "No issues found in these checks. That is not a guarantee." The result lists what was not checked.

What a coin check reads

Look-alikes. The name and ticker against $OTC and the top OTC coins. Look-alike characters (0 and O, 1 and l) are folded together.
Token rules. Whether the mint has a transfer hook, separate from the launcher's Hooks field. See Hooks.
Mint and freeze authority. Whether more of the token can still be printed, or accounts frozen.
Concentration. The share held by the top 10 accounts.
Age. When the first trading pair was created.

A wallet check reads when the address was first seen, whether it is a known OTC address, and whether the console has flagged the address.

From on-chain data and public DEX prices, as of the time shown next to the figure. The reads also use the console's own lists. A result is cached for 10 minutes per address and shows an as-of time. There is a limit of 20 checks per minute.

Image copying, off-chain messages, and later changes to the mint are not in these checks.

Check a link or address

staging.otcos.app is a non-public host. It is not an official site. The checker still recognizes that name.
Not in our registry. It is not on the list. That is not a finding either way. A near-match of an official name gets an extra warning.
Known scam. It is on the deny list. An entry is added from a confirmed report or from OTC's own warning.
